The Patrol Division responds to calls for service from citizens, serves warrants and civil process, conducts initial investigations into criminal complaints, and patrols the county to prevent crime and enforce criminal and traffic laws. These are the officers that the public usually associates with the sheriff's office. They also assist with court security and inmate transports.
The Patrol Division consists of a captain, 2 squad lieutenants, and 8 uniformed deputies who are responsible for patrolling approximately 328 square miles of county and protecting approximately 14,000 citizens.
